What’s Going To Happen
The winner is going bowling – or, at least, is bowl eligible – and the loser still has work to do.
WKU has a date at FIU next week, and with the way it’s playing lately, it has to get this done at home. Losers of three straight, the Hilltoppers have one of the worst winning resumes in college football – Old Dominion is the team’s best victory.
Middle Tennessee has won two straight, but beating UTEP and Charlotte is nothing to get all puffy-chested about. The Blue Raiders are finding their offense again, but consistency hasn’t been a hallmark.
Middle Tennessee is the better team, but will that matter in WKU’s final home game?
This is where having Brent Stockstill back will matter.
He struggled in his first game back, but he threw three touchdown passes against UTEP. He followed it up with three scoring passes in a win over Charlotte, and now he’s facing a team with no pass rush …
And no ground game.
WKU is pass first, pass only, and that an issue against a Blue Raider team with a good enough defense to hold its own.
