Date: Saturday, November 25th
Game Time: 3:30 pm ET

You really want to get this boat rowing, Minnesota? You want to set a new tone for a new era under P.J. Fleck? Then do under your head coach what he couldn’t in the Cotton Bowl as the main man for Western Michigan.
Minnesota exploded the last time they were home, ripping up Nebraska 54-21 to look like the team everyone was hoping for when Fleck turned over, and then …
Pfffffffffft. The air was totally let out of the balloon with a horrible performance against Northwestern in a 39-0 loss.
But now the Gophers can accomplish several things. They can become bowl eligible, they can all but end any College Football Playoff hopes for the Badgers and the Big Ten, and they can break a 12-game losing streak in the Paul Bunyan Axe game. They last won in a 37-34 thriller in the old Metrodome.
Wisconsin just needs a win. It’ll never get any love or respect for its schedule, but win this week, beat Ohio State, and at 13-0 with a Big Ten championship, it’s off to the College Football Playoff.
One Reason Why Wisconsin Will Win
The word you’re looking for, Minnesota offense, is yeeeeeesh.
The Gopher running game has been way too inconsistent. It has yet to win this season when it hasn’t run for at least 150 yards, and there’s absolutely no passing game to pick up the slack.
Minnesota hasn’t thrown for more than 75 yards in three of the last five games, and it hasn’t thrown a touchdown pass since coming up with one in mid-October vs. Illinois.
Wisconsin is No. 1 in the nation against the run, allowing under 80 yards per game stuffing Indiana, Iowa and Michigan for a combined total of 123 yards and one score over the last three weeks.
Minnesota can’t score unless the defense comes up with a slew of takeaways, and …
One Reason Why Minnesota Will Win
Wisconsin has to melt down and start screwing up.
Three interceptions kept the Iowa game from getting truly ugly, and with 20 giveaways on the year, the Badgers aren’t above giving the ball away.
Offensively, can Minnesota crank up the production like it did against Nebraska? The O line played at a whole other level, the backs came up with several big gashes, and 409 yards and six touchdowns later, they came up with a. shocker.
This ground game is good enough to tear off some big runs and come up with something special, but …
What’s Going To Happen
You beat Wisconsin with a good quarterback who can push the ball deep. Minnesota doesn’t have that.
This fits right into the Badger wheelhouse.
The Gophers are going to have to open it up a bit, because the Badger defensive front will tee off on the running game.
Give it until about midway in the second quarter, and then the dam will break as Jonathan Taylor tears off a big touchdown run on the way to a 200-yard day and a 12-0 record going into Indianapolis.
