What’s Going To Happen

It’s a battle to stay alive for bowl eligibility with the winner of this game needing to get and stay hot down the stretch.

Hawaii battled San Diego State well in a loss, but it has to win three of its last four games with Fresno State, at Utah State and BYU to close. Win this, and the Rainbow Warriors can absolutely will two of its last three games.

UNLV came up with one of the shocking Mountain West wins of the season with a great 26-16 win over Fresno State – and without star QB Armani Rogers.

The Rebels have BYU next, and then they go on the road at New Mexico and Nevada – they just might be good enough to win out, but they’re just flaky enough to lose any or all of them.

UNLV has to get its running game going no matter who’s under center. Rogers is expected to be back after suffering a concussion, but the offense will revolve around RB Lexington Thomas against a Hawaii run defense that can’t stop anyone.

But Hawaii has a running game, too. The passing attack is solid enough, even if it’s not efficient, but the defense is just too sketchy to win on the road against a motivated team.

It’s a bit of a tossup considering both teams do most of the same things, but at home, the Rebels will come through in an entertaining game that should come down to the wire.
