What’s Going To Happen
UAB did it. It’s going bowling, and now it’s hoping to pull off another miracle.
It’s not going to happen – North Texas has it way too easy to close things out – but if the Mean Green lose their last two games, and if UAB beats UTSA and UTEP … it’s not going to happen.
Whatever. UAB is going bowling.
It’s been an amazing season of resurrection for the Blazer program, and now it’s about the gravy. But now it has to deal with a UTSA team that needs this.
It’s not a given that the Roadrunners will get that one win to finally get bowl eligible. They have to face Marshall next weeks and close out at Louisiana Tech – they have to get it done now.
The UTSA defense has been fantastic. It leads the league in several categories and is ninth in the nation in total defense and time of possession. The Roadrunners have to take the early lead, hold on to the ball, and led the D do the work.
UAB has been fantastic on third downs and great at not screwing up. They’re great at getting into the backfield and strong defensively, too.
This will be a low-scoring battle with both teams struggling to score. At home, UTSA will do just enough to squeak by, coming up with two timely scoring drives to overcome a few misfires in the first half.
