What’s Going To Happen
North Texas hasn’t been all that consistent, and the defense might not be all that amazing, but it’s at the top of the Conference USA West with a shot at taking the division by the horns.
Beating the teams they’re supposed to, the Mean Green have been able to build off their bowl season of 2016 with a strong run after a rocky start. With relative layups against UTEP and Rice to play in conference action, beat Louisiana Tech, and the West race is likely over.
However, Louisiana Tech can take over the West front-runner spot with a win and a few losses from others in the division. However, with Florida Atlantic up next, there’s a ton of work to do even with three of the last four games at home.
UNT leads the league in total offense with a high-powered passing offense. Mason Fine and company should be able to bomb away against a Bulldog defense that doesn’t generate enough pressure and doesn’t do enough in key spots to get off the field.
Can the Louisiana Tech passing game keep up the pace? The UNT secondary doesn’t come up with big stops, either.
It’ll be a fun firefight that will shake up the Conference USA race. Louisiana Tech will win, and then it’s time to hope for UAB and Southern Miss to lose once more. It’ll happen eventually, but for now, the Bulldog offense will come through cause a log jam on the top of the West.
