What’s Going To Happen
Already set with bowl eligibility, Marshall can still close strong and finish with a ten-win campaign by winning out – and screw up UTSA a bit along the way.
The Roadrunners have spent the last few weeks trying to get that one final win to get bowl eligible, and it hasn’t been easy. With losses to FIU and UAB, it’s been a fight for a team with a terrific defense, and an offense that isn’t getting the job done.
Lose this, and UTSA has to beat Louisiana Tech on the road to get a 12th game – it only has an 11-game season.
Can the Roadrunner offense kick it in again? The team has been great against the weak and the sad, relying on time of possession and a fantastic D – leading Conference USA in both categories – to overcome an attack that stopped scoring.
Is it really possible to beat a good team? All five roadrunner wins have been against the nation’s bottom-feeders – with win over a one-win Baylor is the highlight – but Marshall can play a little D, too.
The Herd offense will control the game with key third down plays and a balanced attack to overcome a good day from the UTSA defensive front. It’ll be a struggle, but Marshall will get out with a good road win.
