What’s Going To Happen
It’s been a rough run for Louisiana Tech.
For a team that was supposed to be just good enough to be in the mix for the Conference USA title, losing four of the last five games isn’t a positive. And now the Bulldogs have to win their last two games against UTEP and UTSA to go bowling.
But getting UTEP is a nice Step One.
The Miners haven’t won yet, and they’ve only been close once, in a 15-14 loss to WKU. Every other game has been a double-digit blowout. As bad as things have been for Louisiana Tech, at home, this has to be a game it wins in a walk.
What’s UTEP’s biggest issue? It can’t move the ball at all, with the nation’s worst offense averaging just 215 yards per game. Not being able to generate a pass rush isn’t helping.
Louisiana Tech isn’t moving the ball, either, and it has no passing game considering it was unstoppable last year, but it can run just well enough, and the defense has the best pass rush in the conference.
Winning ugly is still winning for Louisiana Tech. It’ll take it to set up the bowl possibility next week.
