Georgia Safety J.R. Reed Grades Out Best In The Conference
The analytical gurus at Pro Football Focus graded out Georgia defensive back J.R. Reed as the best safety in the SEC last weekend for his stellar effort in the win over Florida.
While starting all eight games this season, Reed had eight tackles, a half sack and recovered a fumble for a touchdown in No. 1 Georgia’s 42-7 beatdown of Florida.
Reed, who transferred from Tulsa to Georgia, is second on the team with 44 tackles this season, has recorded one interception, three pass breakups, two fumble recoveries and forced a fumble.
The 6’1″, 195-pound redshirt sophomore from Frisco, Texas was also selected as the SEC co-defensive player of the week.
Georgia (8-0, 5-0 SEC) takes on the South Carolina Gamecocks (6-2, 4-2 SEC) in an SEC East showdown in Athens at 3:30 p.m. ET this Saturday.
