Georgia In The Picture For Five-Star Defensive End
All-American defensive end Micah Parsons plans to use one of his remaining two official visits at Georgia.
The 6-foot-3, 235-pound Harrisburg (Pa.) High School senior plans to commit on December 20. Parsons, the No. 5 overall recruit in the nation, originally committed to Penn State but de-committed in April.
Parson’s father, Terrence Parsons, told Tyler Donohue of Landof10.com, “They’re real family oriented. How they laid it out [regarding academics], as a parent it’s what you want to hear,” Terrence said. “Basically, for you not to make it down there, you just have to come in there and say, ‘I’m not doing any work.’ ”
Projected as a weakside defensive end in college, Parsons is doing it on both sides of the ball this season. He leads 10-0 Harrisburg with 1,052 rushing yards (11.4 yards per carry) and 25 touchdowns. On defense, he’s recorded 48 tackles, 17.5 tackles for loss and 9.5 sacks.
Georgia currently has the fifth-ranked class in the 2018 recruiting cycle. The Dawgs signed Pennsylvania products D’Andre Swift and Mark Webb last season and adding Parsons would be quite a coup.
