Date: Saturday, November 11th
Game Time: 7:00 pm ET
Venue: FIU Stadium, Miami, FL
What’s Going To Happen
Wait until next week.
FIU can’t blow the two-foot putt against Old Dominion as it looks ahead to the showdown against Florida Atlantic next week, but it’s time to gear it up for the stretch. The Golden Panthers control their own league destiny, with this game, FAU next, and then WKU to finish up.
On a three-game winning streak and bowl eligible, the Golden Panther defense has been great, the offense good enough, and this has turned into a special season under Butch Davis in his first year.
ODU is coming off a win. It was a 6-0 win over a miserable Charlotte team, but it was a win.
The Monarchs lost six straight game before that, and now, as bad as the season has been, they can still rally back and go bowling by winning this week, beating Rice, and finishing up with a win over Middle Tennessee.
But there’s no O in ODU.
The Monarchs struggle to score, they turn the ball over too much, and they can’t complete enough deep balls.
FIU isn’t anything special when it comes to hanging on to the ball, and it’s offense isn’t great, but it doesn’t whiff when it gets its chances.
The Golden Panthers will win this game on the lines.
