What’s Going To Happen
The fight is still on for the MAC West title, with Central Michigan needing help with Toledo losing twice, and winning out with Kent State this week and Northern Illinois to follow.
But with three straight wins, the Chippewas turned around a dying season and now they’re bowl eligible. One more win should cement one of the MAC’s bowl slots.
Kent State is merely looking for something positive.
On a bad run of seven losses in the last eight games, the Golden Flashes will try to play the spoiler role in their home finale.
The CMU offense is playing too well right now. Former Michigan transfer Shane Morris is coming off a three-score passing day against Eastern Michigan, and Jonathan Ward has come on as a star to work around, running for 159 yards and two touchdowns in the win.
More than anything else, CMU is starting to dominate defensively when it comes to taking the ball away, picking off five passes last week against EMU.
Kent State doesn’t have a passing game.
The Golden Flashes will come up with an okay defensive performance at home, but they don’t have the offense to keep up any sort of pace. They just can’t move the chains.
