What’s Going To Happen
The West race is still wide open, but Western Michigan can all but get knocked out of it with a loss.
Central Michigan is still technically still alive for the MAC title, and it’s two wins away from going bowling, but it has to get hot in a hurry and can’t whiff the rest of the way.
The loss to Toledo a few weeks ago really, really hurts the West chances, but Northern Illinois is still on the slate. Win this week, and then the dream is still there.
Western Michigan clunked against Akron, but it controls its own destiny with road games Northern Illinois and Toledo still to play.
The Broncos haven’t been consistent, but the offensive line has been terrific, they lead the league in turnover margin, and they’re normally able to get by with an offense that cranks overcomes the other issues.
But the defense is just okay.
CMU QB Shane Morris is coming off a fantastic four touchdown performance in an layup win over Ball State, and now he has to get hot to keep up the pace.
It’ll be a good, entertaining rivalry game with the Broncos showing more offensive balance and enough third down stops to stay in control. WMU will move the ball when it has to, and CMU won’t.
