Can UNLV Rebound Against Utah State?
The Rebels Will Try to Secure Their Third Win of the Season
UNLV Will Try To Right the Ship Against the Aggies
With Last weeks 34-30 loss to Air Force, the Rebels have now dropped two straight games and find themselves sitting at 2-4 and looking for answers. In the loss to the Falcons, the team gave up 401 rushing yards, which included five touchdowns from Falcons quarterback Arion Worthman, who also compiled 166 of those rushing yards. To make things worse, Worthman only attempted eight passes, completing half of them for a mere 72 yards. To put it simply, the Rebels defense was bad.
Although last week was bad, UNLV must move on, and they have a chance to do just that this week as they host Utah State. Like the Rebels, the Aggies are also in the midst of a losing streak after falling to Colorado State and Wyoming in consecutive weeks. And, like UNLV, you can bet that Utah State views this week as a chance to turn things around and get their season back on track.
When these two teams clash on Saturday, the Rebels must show fans that they mean business.
To do that, the defense will definitely need to step up, particularly in the run game because if the Aggies are able to run all over UNLV like Air Force did, this game will be over before it even begins. Sticking with the run, expect the Rebels to continue to employ a run first mentality when on offense as it offers them the best chance at winning.
If the Rebels want to get their third victory of the season, they will need to play lights out in all three phases on Saturday.
The game kicks off at 3pm PT on Saturday
