3 Reasons Why San Diego State Will Beat UNLV
San Diego State Will Beat UNLV. Here are three reasons why.
San Diego State is the best team in the Mountain West Conference, and UNLV remains a pleb.
Currently, San Diego State is 16-9 all-time against UNLV and is riding a 3-game winning streak against UNLV, dating back to 2013.
In these three games, these are the point differentials: 19, 38, 17. Last year’s meeting was the only meeting in 2016 where the SDSU offense put up 200+ yards rushing and 200+ yards passing, and still won by 19 points.
Looking to this week’s matchup, these are the 3 Reasons Why San Diego State Will Beat UNLV
San Diego State’s Defense Wins Games.
When they’re behind, the defense keeps the team in the game. When they’re up, the defense shuts the door at the end of the game. San Diego State has turned the page on collapsing and have become stronger on the defense. No collapses, no late leads given up because they know how to close. Coffee is for closers, and they’re all full of caffeine.
Add in the +9 in the turnover battle against a poor UNLV team, so have no doubts that there will be…
Big Plays From Special People
This team has found ways to get everyone involved. Last week, Juwan Washington and Tristian Thompson came up huge with a kick return touchdown and a pick six, respectively. If it’s not Rashaad Penny making a play, there’s someone else on the team ready to go for the Aztecs. This team is special not only because of the running back getting eyes from the NFL, but the guys who are putting on the Aztec jersey believe in themselves.
San Diego State’s long-term investment in Rocky Long has paid dividends, but it’s just easy to see that…
UNLV is Pure Trash
UNLV remains at the bottom of the football standings. After opening the season with an upset loss against Howard, it hasn’t been easy. These guys were also humiliated by Ohio State, before beating fellow cellar dweller San Jose State. They’ve only had one winning season in the last decade, and two winning seasons since the creation of the Mountain West Conference. They haven’t gotten it together, despite having talent on the roster like senior WR Devonte Boyd. UNLV will win another game it just won’t come at the expense of the Aztecs.
