What’s Going To Happen
North Texas might have been ripped up by Florida Atlantic last week, but it’s still tied for the top of the West race, and even a half game ahead thanks to its win over Southern Miss.
It can all but put the division away with a win over Louisiana Tech next week – the rest of the conference schedule is a layup – but first it has to take advantage of a horrible Old Dominion team that can’t seem to catch a break.
It played WKU tough in a loss last week, but the defense continues to be mediocre, and the offense is way too inconsistent. RB Ray Lawry is running well, but he’s not enough to overcome a badly inefficient passing game.
Both teams turn the ball over – a lot – but North Texas has the league’s best passing game and a defense that’s far better than it showed against FAU. At home, it’ll step up and be far better – the Monarch secondary is about to have a bad day.
