What’s Going To Happen

It’s the 2016 American Athletic Conference championship that probably would’ve been a lot more fun. But USF lost the game it had to win against Temple, and Houston shockingly gagged away the West.

Now, USF is trying to keep pace in the East race with UCF, while Houston is trying desperately to stay alive in the West, even though it’s already lost its last two games and is on life support.

USF hasn’t seen a penalty it didn’t like to commit – getting flagged more than anyone in college football – but running for over 300 yards per game and dominating on the defensive front more than makes up for it.

Charlie Strong is showing why he’s such a brilliant defensive mind – he and his staff turned a woeful run D into one of the nation’s best – for a team that leads the nation in turnover margin.

The Houston lines are playing well, and this is the best run defense with the best line the Bulls have faced so far, but the Cougars have a massive turnover problem. The defense will take it away, but the offense will give it up.

The offense finally opened it up last week against Memphis, but this week, after allowing 471 yards to the Tigers, it’s about to get hit hard by the USF ground game.

The Cougars, though, will hang around. They’ll screw it up, though, with a few key giveaways.
