Anything interesting happening with the UCLA football program?
After one of the most amazing games in the history of UCLA athletics, now Josh Rosen and company have to figure out how to win games without needing an epic, all-timer comeback.
Can the Bruins refocus and put Texas A&M In the past? It had better, because Hawaii is just dangerous enough to be a problem.
The Warriors are 2-0 after blowing away Western Carolina. With a dangerous offense and enough upside to give the Bruins a problem, the Rainbow Warriors might just be good enough to screw up all the fun from last Sunday night.
One Reason Why Hawaii Will Win
Texas A&M really did dominate.
It took an epic collapse and several dozen things to go the right away for Rosen and the Bruins to pull that off. But before the comeback, A&M ran at will with 382 rushing yards and big dash after big dash.
Hawaii might be known for its passing ability, but Diocemy Saint Juste has paced a good-looking ground game that came up with close to 300 yards last week.
Granted, it was against Western Carolina, but considering the UCLA defense showed absolutely nothing against the run until Texas A&M stopped, Hawaii has to give it a shot.
One Reason Why UCLA Will Win
That Rosen guy might be pretty good.
Now the spotlight is on for No. 3 to do something magical on a regular basis, but just being sharp from the start will be good enough.
The Hawaii secondary isn’t anything special – it’ll be picked apart if the pass rush isn’t working.
And yes, there are some positives to the Bruin defense. As bad as the front seven was against the run, the pass rush was great late in the game, finishing with six sacks and coming up with key stops to give Rosen his shot.
What’s Going To Happen
There won’t be any need for magic this time around.
Rosen will be solid, and while the UCLA defense won’t be a rock, it won’t have to be. The Rainbow Warriors will be competitive throughout – UCLA will have to keep trying – but the Bruins will have a far easier time getting through another shootout.
