One Reason Why Nevada Will Win
The new offense got a week to start tuning this thing up. It wasn’t perfect against Northwestern, but for all the misfires and all the problems, the Wolf Pack still had a shot to get out with a win.
They lost 31-20, but the defense did a strong job against the run. Now the O has to keep the pressure on, but at home, and after getting the timing down, the stats will be there against a suspect Toledo defense.
One Reason Why Toledo Will Win
It’s time to open up the machine.
Nevada might have done an okay job against the Northwestern running game, but Justin Jackson still went over 100 yards, Clayton Thorson threw for over 350, and when the D had to step up, it couldn’t come up with a goal line stand.
Toledo doesn’t have Kareem Hunt around anymore, but it will share the carries with everyone getting fat against the Wolf Pack D. Logan Woodside will bomb away, the O will click, and no matter what kind of a shootout this is, the Rockets will keep up.
What’s Going To Happen
Get ready for a crazy firefight.
The Nevada Air Raid offense will click. Ty Gangi will get the starting quarterback nod again, and he’ll look far better than he did against Northwestern.
Coming up with well over 300 yards won’t be a problem, but it won’t be enough.
Toledo will balance out the offense with equal success, answering every big Nevada moment with a scoring drive. The Rockets will survive, but it’ll be a firefight.
