Purdue 44, Ohio 21: 3 Quick Game Thoughts
Check out 3 Quick Game Thoughts on Purdue’s win over Ohio
Purdue 44, Ohio 21
Prediction: Purdue 30, Ohio 27
Line: Purdue -5 o/u: 56
1. And now David Blough takes over. Purdue was going with a two quarterback system after the Louisville game, but Elijah Sindelar completed just 4-of-10 passes for 60 yards with a touchdowns. Blough was fantastic, hitting 11-of-13 throws for 235 yards and three scores.
2. Don’t just blow this off as a win over a MAC team. Okay, blow this off as a win over a MAC team if Ohio loses to Kansas next week, but this is a Bobcat team strong enough to end up winning the conference title – or at least playing for it.
However, it’s not all that explosive. and that was the key. Purdue, cranked up the scoring plays in the first half and ended it. When this O works, you’d better be able to keep up. Ohio couldn’t.
3. The Boilermaker linebacking corps looked solid. WKU transfer T.J. McCollum isn’t having any sort of a hard time finding a spot in the already strong corps, leading the team with nine tackles. The run defense might not have been a brick wall, but it did the job against a strong Ohio ground game.
