What’s Going To Happen
How will New Mexico score?
The running game of the past several years hasn’t been nearly as strong, and now the Lobos have to rely on third-string quarterback Coltin Gerhart to rise up and shine with the top two options out.
Gerhart did what he could against Boise State, but he only threw for 67 yards with a late score, while leading the Lobos with 49 rushing yards.
If he’s leading the team in rushing, there’s a problem.
Tulsa lost a wild and crazy 54-51 shootout with Toledo with three Golden Hurricanes hitting the 100-yard mark – the team ran for 423 yards and six scores.
The Lobos are playing great run defense with a stout defensive front, while Tulsa has the second-worst defense in college football. If New Mexico could throw at all, it would take this, but the Golden Hurricane will have more firepower.
But the Lobo offense will show up just enough to make this fun.
