One Reason Why Chattanooga Will Win
Will LSU take the week off to rest up and get ready for the road game at Mississippi State to kick off the SEC season?
The suspensions that kept out a slew of key defensive players last week against BYU might be coming to a close, but who knows? Head coach Ed Orgeron has made it a policy not to talk about anyone who’s not playing, but the Mocs might be missing a few of the Tigers.
Last week, Nick Tiano got the passing game going a bit in the loss to Jacksonville State, and unlike BYU, there’s a chance to get past midfield a few times if the LSU focus wanes. However …
One Reason Why LSU Will Win
Even without a few suspended starters, along with DE Arden Key, LSU put on a defensive clinic, stuffing BYU for -5 net rushing yards and allowing just six first downs.
LSU committed ten penalties, and only scored 27 points, but it was a game of total domination from the start.
While the goal might be to rest as many starters as possible – Derrius Guice doesn’t need a whole lot of work, if any – as long as Danny Etling can hit 14-of-17 throws like he did in New Orleans, this shouldn’t be anything more than a light scrimmage.
What’s Going To Happen
LSU will go through the motions and win in a walk. No matter who’s on defense, the intensity will be there. Orgeron and defensive coordinator Dave Aranda are setting an early tone, and Chattanooga is in the way.
