One Reason Why Jacksonville State Will Win
Does Georgia Tech have anything left in the tank?
After such an emotional and tough double-overtime loss to Tennessee, how do the Yellow Jackets get physical enough again to be ready for Jacksonville State?
The Gamecocks aren’t bad – they managed to stuff Chattanooga in a win, allowing just 76 rushing yards – with a dangerous ground game of their own. But to make this happen, they need to just hang in there, make a few early stops, and keep on hitting QB TaQuon Marshall over and over and over again.
After 44 carries, is Marshall ready to roll six days later? Georgia Tech will likely be operating at less than full capacity.
One Reason Why Georgia Tech Will Win
Okay, so Georgia Tech is tired. That’s the beauty of the Yellow Jacket offense – it can slow things down a bit.
Instead of going at a quick pace – Tech had to do that to keep Tennessee on its heels – it can be a bit more deliberate, a bit more time conscious, and do even more to go with the power game.
Marshall will still be Marshall, but this is the game to spread out the wealth a bit after he ran for 249 yards and five scores. If the Yellow Jackets can hold the ball for over 41 minutes again, they’ll do their job.
What’s Going To Happen
It might not be all that scintillating after the Tennessee game, and it might take a while to get going, but eventually, the Yellow Jacket offense will take over.
The Georgia Tech D will force too many mistakes for the Gamecocks to get back in the game after getting down early.
