Georgia Linebacker Lorenzo Carter In The Spotlight
After surprising much of Dawg Nation last winter by announcing his return to Georgia for his senior year, linebacker Lorenzo Carter is on an upward trend….with a bullet.
The Norcross, Georgia native may have had his best game as a Bulldog Saturday night. In front of a prime-time, nationally-televised audience, and on the road against the 24th-ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Carter played like a man possessed. He recorded seven tackles, one tackle for a loss, a quarterback sack, two quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery.
Carter led a tenacious Georgia defense by limiting Notre Dame to a total of 55 rushing yards and 210 passing yards in the Dawgs’ 20-19 victory.
Carter praised Dawg Nation for showing up in force for the game.
“First of all, I thank the fan base,” Carter said. “Thank Dawg Nation for coming out huge, coming out big time. It felt like a home game, man.”
Carter’s NFL draft status is trending up and we expect he’ll continue to build his resume as the season continues.
