Date: Sunday, Sept. 24th
Game Time: 12:00 pm ET
Venue: Rentschler Field, Stores, CT
What’s Going To Happen
In an attempt to get everything in after the schedule issues thanks to Hurricane Irma, these two were supposed to meet on September 9th, but will not be played now so UConn can get in its game with USF in November.
Both teams could use a win now, though.
Connecticut wasn’t awful in a 38-18 loss to Virginia, but it hasn’t been as sharp as it needs to be going forward – at least after this week.
The Huskies can’t get into opposing backfields, theory struggling in turnover margins and they can’t seem to score, but the biggest problem is the secondary that’s getting touched for over 406 yards per game.
Fortunately, that’s where East Carolina comes in.
Totally miserable defensively so far, the ECU defensive front has been destroyed, the secondary is getting walloped on big plays, and so far it’s been an ugly ride in an 0-3 start allowing over 50 points per game.
UConn can’t score, ECU can’t stop anyone from scoring – something has to give.
The Huskies will pound away from the start and finally get the running game working under head coach Randy Edsall. It won’t be a thing of beauty, but UConn will be 2-1.
It’ll take it.
