Anytime that amazing Auburn offense would like to show up, the rest of the SEC world is waiting to see it.

The Tigers went through the motions to beat Mercer last week after being shut down cold by Clemson. But now that SEC play is kicking in, they’ve got to hit the layup.

If Purdue could roll by Mizzou with ease, Auburn had better has at least as much success.

The other Tigers have been a miserable failure.

With four winnable games at home, September was supposed to be when the Barry Odom era took off. Instead, Missouri got ripped up defensively by Missouri State and lost to South Carolina and Purdue by a combined score of 66-16.

With three games nine the next four on the road, and just three home games left after this, the 2017 season might be over without a win.

One Reason Why Auburn Will Win

All of a sudden, the Missouri offense has decided to go bye-bye.

The defense has been a rumor ever since Gary Pinkel left, but the offense did its part last season. Against Purdue – not exactly known as the 2000 Baltimore Ravens defensively – Mizzou managed to run of just 70 yards to go along with a passing game that went nowhere.

The O can’t stop turning the ball over, the D can’t seem to stop anyone who can do anything remotely well offensively, and the special teams have had a few too many meltdowns.

Other than that, everything is going great.

One Reason Why Missouri Will Win

One of the few things Missouri is doing well is getting to the quarterback. The Tigers have come up with eight sacks so far and is doing a nice job generating decent pressure.

Considering what Clemson did to the Auburn offensive line a few weeks ago, the Missouri defensive front has to be frothing at the mouth ready to attack.

Along with not giving QB Jarrett Stidham enough time – at least against the good pass rushes – Auburn can’t seem to hold on to the ball, with six fumbles so far and five total turnovers against Mercer.

Missouri needs all the breaks it can create.

What’s Going To Happen

It’ll be target practice time for Stidham.

The offense couldn’t get out of its own way last week with all the mistakes, but it’ll be far better with Kerryon Johnson back to help Kamryn Pettway carry the mail. Stidham will be brutally efficient and effective early, and the Auburn defensive front and pass rush will take care of the rest.
