Wallace is a big reason why some people might be sleeping on Wyoming’s potential this fall.
Our list of the Mountain West’s 50 best football players continues with an unheralded lineman who could play one of the biggest roles in the hunt for the conference title.
Zach Wallace has been a two-year starter along the Wyoming Cowboys offensive line, shifting to left tackle, and protecting Josh Allen’s blind side, last fall after starting ten games at right tackle in 2015. It’s probably not a coincidence that the Pokes finished just outside the top 20 nationally in point scored per trip inside opponents’ 40-yard line and inside that top 20 in Bill Connelly’s Power Success Rate.
Even without Brian Hill and Chase Roullier, who have moved on to the NFL, Wallace will be the linchpin in an experienced unit which will help Wyoming defend the Mountain division title.
