Hawaii (0-0) vs. Western Carolina (0-0) Game Preview
One Reason Why Western Carolina Will Win
Can the Catamounts get the passing game going? They don’t have the offensive weapons that UMass does – let that sink in for a moment – but they might be able to hit a Hawaii secondary that had a hard time last week in the 38-35 win over the Minutemen. Veteran QB Tyrie Adams is a talented all-around passer who knows how to crank up the yards – he’ll get his chance.
One Reason Why Hawaii Will Win
Can WCU slow down the Hawaii attack? The secondary wasn’t all that bad last season, but it has to deal with the the Dru Brown to John Ursua connection. Last week against the Minutemen, Ursua caught 12 passes for 272 yards and a score – including an 85-yard play – while Brown was sharp, especially in crunch time. WCU was last in the FCS in sacks last season with just nine – it’s not going to generate any pressure.
What’s Going To Happen
The fun continues as Hawaii builds off the great late win over UMass to throw at will. It’s the longest road trip in the history of Western Carolina football, but it’ll have a little bit of offensive fun – just not enough of it. The Rainbow Warriors will do whatever they want to.
