Bulldogs In the NFL Have A Good Opening Preseason Weekend
The NFL preseason began with rookies fighting for attention and veterans fine tuning their crafts.
Two Georgia rookies, Isaiah McKenzie for Denver and the Falcons’ Reggie Davis had great starts to their professional careers. McKenzie had a 47-yard touchdown pass and returned one punt for five yards. Davis collected two passes for 43 yards and had a long touchdown pass nullified for a penalty. Davis’ teammate, Quincy Mauger also saw some action for Atlanta. He had a tackle and fielded one punt.
Young veteran Dawgs in the NFL also performed well. Starting New York Jets’ linebacker Jordan Jenkins had a tackle and a highlight, one-handed sack. Second-year pro Leonard Floyd had a viscous sack on the Bears’ first defensive play.
In addition, after sitting out the first three preseason games last year, there was even a Todd Gurley preseason sighting. Gurley rushed four times in the Rams’ opener.
Looking forward to following all 40-plus Dawgs in the NFL this season.
