Like last year, USA starts out the season with a shocking SEC win, this year getting it over Ole Miss. After losing to Oklahoma State, the Jaguars get past Alabama A&M and Idaho for a great start. After a few road losses, beating ULM, Georgia State and Louisiana-Lafayette gets them back into bowl eligibility. It might not be a Sun Belt title season, but with late wins, it’s a strong eight-win year.

After getting destroyed by Ole Miss and Oklahoma State, and with later road losses to Louisiana Tech and Troy, the rough 2-4 start means the team has to scramble a bit over the second half of the year – and it doesn’t happen. With losses to Arkansas State and Georgia Southern, there’s a threat to miss out on bowl eligibility, and then it all finishes with a thud losing at New Mexico State.
