All You Really Need To Know About Oklahoma State

(Big 12) RPI: 40, 10 seed

The Cowboys rebounded from a brutal six-game losing streak to roar through most of the second half of the year, winning ten games in 11 before dropping the final three – but they were to Iowa State twice and Kansas.

Among the best free throw shooting teams in the nation, and with an O that bombs from three and a D that’s great at forcing mistakes, they make up for a slew of major issues. They don’t defend well enough – teams hit 47% of their shots – and give up way too many points, but that’s OSU. It does shootouts well.

All You Really Need To Know About Michigan

(Big Ten) RPI: 25, 7 seed

The Wolverines were playing well before the plane skidded off the runway – no, Michigan didn’t win the Big Ten tournament because of the mishap. The team really is that good at shooting – hitting 48% on the year – and they’re great at not turning the ball over and hitting the key free throws.

Even though they were able to get by Minnesota and Wisconsin, the Wolverines are still lousy overall on the boards and don’t have enough of an interior presence. They’re going to have problems with the more physical teams inside, or the defenses who now how to pressure on the outside.

What’s Going To Happen

Will Michigan be able to ride the wave that swept it through Washington on the way to a Big Ten title? If Oklahoma State hit everything, then yeah.

The Cowboys have one of the nation’s worst defenses and the Wolverines can shoot the lights out – expect a high-scoring fun show. Oklahoma State won’t stop anything, but they’ll bomb away and hit the shots the Big Ten teams didn’t over the last weekend.
