With a solid 67-63 win over North Carolina Central, the Aggies were able to move on and get their run against Kansas. So what can they possibly do to have any sort of a shot to keep it close?
As they showed in the First Four, they know how to hit the boards hard, out rebounding the Eagle 40-30. While the don’t have any size, and they struggled way too much from the outside they kept the pressure on, hit most of their free throws, and got a monster performance out of F Chime Moneke.
All You Really Need To Know About Kansas
(Big 12) RPI: 3, 1 seed
The Jayhawks showed their problems in the Big 12 Tournament. They might not have had star Josh Jackson, but their bigger issue was not being able to hold up in the interior against TCU. That’s not going to happen in the first weekend.
The Kansas offense can bomb its way out of problems hitting over 40% of its three-point tries, doing a great job of working the ball around to find the open man. The biggest weakness is on the line – the Jayhawks can’t hit free throws.
What’s Going To Happen
There’s no way the Aggies will be able to keep up any sort of pace. They’ll want to grind it down several gears, but unless they pull off a few miracles from three, Kansas should be able to come up with whatever score they want to. The Jayhawks will dominate up front.
