2017 USF Bulls Best Case Scenario
The Bulls start out red hot on the road, beating San Jose State and UConn on the way to a 3-0 start. And then comes the big early test when Lovie Smith returns to Tampa, bringing Illinois in the toughest non-conference date on the slate. Win that, be a national name again, and then beat Temple on national TV to take control of the AAC race.
The schedule eases up, with but it gets tough at home. USF beats Houston and Tulsa to take the West, but realistically, this isn’t a good enough team to go unbeaten. There will be a loss along the way – maybe at UCF in the War On I-4 – but it’ll still be a double-digit regular season.
2017 USF Bulls Worst Case Scenario
The Bulls fall flat in the AAC opener at UConn, and follow it up with a loss to Illinois. In a disaster, they lose to Temple at home, setting a horrible tone early on in the Charlie Strong era. The lose to Houston at home and UCF on the road, and while they still go bowling, it’s an underwhelming follow up to a big 2-16.
