2017 Texas Tech Red Raiders Football Schedule
Realistic Best Case Scenario
Eastern Washington is no picnic to open up the season, but with a week off after, the Red Raiders should be prepared and ready to roll for a rough September stretch. Take care of Arizona State at home, push past a rebuilding Houston on the road, and then make a statement against Oklahoma State to kick off the Big 12 season. Three road games in four weeks in October is an issue, but Kansas and Iowa State are beatable. Split on the road at West Virginia and Oklahoma, and the season is alive in November – Texas Tech doesn’t leave Texas over the final month. Even so, there are too many tough road games. If everything goes right, the Red Raiders go 8-4.

Realistic Worst Case Scenario
The Red Raiders drop the non-conference games against Arizona State and Houston, and lose to a loaded Oklahoma State team to start the Big 12. They can’t win a good road game, losing to West Virginia, Oklahoma, Baylor and Texas, and they get tripped up at home by a Kansas State or a TCU. The possibility for a disaster is there, but at worst, the Red Raiders will go 4-8.
