2017 Oklahoma Sooners Football Schedule
Realistic Best Case Scenario
This time around, they don’t stink out of the gate. In a perfect world, the Sooners pull off the win at Ohio State and start out 3-0 before going to Baylor to start the Big 12 season. If all goes well and get through September unbeaten, and then with a week off, they should be ready to rip up Iowa State at home before the Texas showdown. If OU is able to rock like it did the last few years in Big 12 play, getting through the second half of the year shouldn’t be a problem. Basically, beat Ohio State, and 12-0 is in the picture. Go 11-1 and get to the Big 12 Championship, and the College Football Playoff will be there for the taking.

Realistic Worst Case Scenario
They lose to Ohio State and Baylor, going 2-2 in September to all but ruin a run for the College Football Playoff before it all gets rolling. With three games away from Norman in four weeks, OU loses to Texas and Oklahoma State – dropping the two rivalry games would be a killer no matter what – and sputters at home late against either TCU or West Virginia, ruining any Big 12 title hopes. However, even if the wheels totally come off the schooner, OU won’t be any worse than 7-5, 6-6 in a total disaster.
