2017 Kansas Jayhawks Football Schedule
Realistic Best Case Scenario
The Jayhawks have to get out to a hot start and can’t whiff on the MAC games. Central Michigan and Ohio aren’t pushovers, but KU has to win both of those and beat SE Missouri to get out to a 3-0 start. They can’t lose the Iowa State road game, and they need to take advantage of the week off before the Texas Tech game. It’ll take a few upsets – like West Virginia at home, or Kansas State in late October – to get close to six wins, but forget about a six-win season and a bowl appearance without beating those MAC teams. Sure, go for it, Kansas. Dream of 6-6.

Realistic Worst Case Scenario
Kansas loses those MAC games. It’s possible to start out 1-2, and then all dreams of going bowling are gone. Worse yet, if the Jayhawks don’t take advantage of the home dates and the week off before facing Texas Tech, they could be 1-4 before going to Iowa State. With Oklahoma, Kansas State, Texas and Oklahoma State still to face, a rough first six weeks would likely mean another last place Big 12 finish.
