2017 Iowa State Cyclones Football Schedule Realistic Best Case Scenario
Iowa State beats Iowa. Winning the in-state rivalry game is always a boost for the Cyclones, and as long as they don’t whiff on the opener against Northern Iowa, and if they take care of Akron on the road, 3-0 would make them the key Big 12 story before hosting Texas. With Kansas at home – along with TCU and Oklahoma State – if they can somehow win three conference games in Ames, a bowl game will be on the table. November looks rough, but win two of the four nasty games, and 7-5 is possible, or even 8-4 in a dream world.
2017 Iowa State Cyclones Football Schedule Realistic Worst Case Scenario
Iowa State is better, stronger, and has the team in place to do something big, and then it loses to Northern Iowa and Iowa in the two in-state rivalry showdowns. It loses to Texas to kickoff the Big 12 season, loses at Oklahoma, and all of a sudden, it’s going to take a fight to get in the mix for a bowl game. There might be a few good home wins along the way, but with three road games in the final four, they’ll need to win three November games with Oklahoma State at home, and West Virginia, Baylor and Kansas State away from Ames, and this is a good team that finishes 4-8.
