2017 Vanderbilt Commodores Football Schedule
Realistic Best Case Scenario
Even if this is a special Vanderbilt team, and even if it’s able to come up with a few key home wins, it’s still asking for a bit too much to do anything better than 5-2 to start the season before getting a week off. If the Commodores can get two wins out of the home games against Kansas State, Alabama and Georgia, along with road dates at Florida and Ole Miss, throw a parade. Realistically, let’s say the ceiling is 4-3, and then Vandy goes 3-1 in the next four games after the break before coming up with a shocker of a road finish over Tennessee. 8-4 with this schedule would be terrific.

Realistic Worst Case Scenario
Middle Tennessee pulls off the win in the home opener, and then Vandy can’t pull off an upset in the five-game run of K-State, Bama, Florida, Georgia and Ole Miss. They lose to South Carolina on the road coming off a break, and they lose a home game in the three-game November run before losing to Tennessee on the road to close things out. 3-9 isn’t out of the question, especially considering the Commodores will probably be favored in just four games.
