2017 Minnesota Golden Gophers Football Schedule
Realistic Best Case Scenario
The Gophers roll through the relatively easy non-conference schedule for a 3-0 start going into the off-week. They won’t have any issues against Maryland, at Purdue, Michigan State or Illinois to crank up the P.J. Fleck era to 7-0 before going to Iowa. They split between the road games against the Hawkeyes and at Michigan, get by Nebraska at home, and beat Northwestern in Evanston and finally get the axe back against Wisconsin. 11-1 is way too ambitious for a team with too many issues, but with this schedule, 9-3 is a realistic goal.

Schedule Realistic Worst Case Scenario
They lose to an improved Oregon State on the road and get outschemed by Jeff Brohm and Purdue on the road in a rocky first five games. Michigan State doesn’t stink anymore, and that’s a home loss, and two weeks later, Minnesota loses to both Iowa and Michigan on the road to kick off an awful run. Nebraska, at Northwestern, and Wisconsin are all tough losses on the way to a rebuilding 5-7 campaign.
