The College Football Playoff has taken over the national championship discussion and focus, but the AP national title winners have mirrored the BCS and then the CFP champs.

CFN has created a formula looking back at all the past AP national champions, giving the title winner 25 points, the No. 2 team in the final AP rankings 24 points, on down to the bottom – a 1 for the No. 25 team. Where have the top programs of the decade finished?
