All You Really Need To Know About UCLA
There might have been a scary fall by Lonzo Ball, and it might have been a sluggish overall performance for a few stretches, but UCLA still rocked Kent State 97-80. The Bruins finished hitting 63% from the field including 7-of-14 from three. And why? UCLA was UCLA, coming up with 25 assists.
No. 1 in the nation in assists, the Bruins are amazing at hitting the extra pass for the easy shot – which is why they’re also No. 1 in the nation in field goal percentage. They do just about everything right offensively, hitting over 40% from three to go along with a great inside presence.
All You Really Need To Know About Cincinnati
Cincinnati crushed Kansas State 75-61 by allowing the Wildcats to hit just 39% from the field in the easy blowout. The O couldn’t seem to miss, nailing 63% of the shots from the field including 5-of-11 from three. When the defense is forcing miss after miss, the transition points aren’t a problem.
The Bearcats are ultra-efficient, ranking third in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio coming from a dominant defense that allows just under 61 points per game. They don’t hit from three, and they stink on the free throw line, but it doesn’t seem to matter – that D is just too good.
What’s Going To Happen
Do you like the amazing D or the unstoppable O? UCLA has the passing and the versatility to get past the Cincinnati defense that attacks and doesn’t let anyone get comfortable. It’ll be more of a grind than the Bruins might like, but the three and free throws will save the day late.
