2017 Texas Longhorns Football Schedule
Realistic Best Case Scenario

Tom Herman has the team roaring from the start with easy wins over Maryland and San Jose State before having to deal with the showdown at USC. With a week off to prepare for the Big 12 season, the Longhorns roll through Iowa State on the road and Kansas State at home before taking down Oklahoma in Dallas. With Oklahoma State at home, it’s not insane to shoot for a 6-1 record going into the road game at Baylor. Win two of the three road games against Baylor, TCU and West Virginia, and beat Kansas and Texas Tech at home, and the best case scenario puts Texas into the Big 12 championship.

Realistic Worst Case Scenario

Maryland has it figured out and shocks the Longhorns in Austin to start the year. If that happens, it’s uh-oh time with that road game at USC to deal with. Texas loses to Oklahoma, doesn’t win both home games against Kansas State and Oklahoma State, and struggles in a stretch of three road games in four weeks against Baylor, TCU and West Virginia. It’ll take a nightmare to come up with another losing season, but 6-6 isn’t out of the question.
