2017 Tennessee Volunteers Football Schedule
Realistic Best Case Scenario

The Vols beat Florida. That’s it. That’s the game. Of course Georgia will be a battle, and South Carolina won’t be a pushover, and handling Georgia Tech to start the season won’t be a breeze, but beat Florida, and with all the home games early on in the season, 6-0 isn’t crazy – especially playing the Gamecocks coming off an open date. The three road games in four weeks starts at Alabama, but beating Kentucky and Missouri is possible, before closing out with LSU and Vanderbilt at home. The Vols won’t be good enough to go unbeaten, or finish 11-1, but they can dream of the East title and a 10-2 record.

Realistic Worst Case Scenario

Tennessee can’t handle Georgia Tech’s option in the opener, and loses to Florida for a 1-2 start. There’s no Hail Mary this time around, and the loss to Georgia is a killer for the first part of the season. The Vols lose at Alabama, and split the road games against Kentucky and Mizzou before losing to LSU. They’re not going to finish with a losing season, but if the wheels come off, 6-6 is possible.
