2017 South Carolina Gamecocks Football Schedule
Realistic Best Case Scenario

It’s not an easy first month, but it’s manageable for a strong team. In a realistic world, the Gamecocks get out of the first four weeks of September at least 3-1, especially with wins over Missouri and Kentucky, before the season kicks in on the 30th at Texas A&M. USC gets to the week off in late October no worse than 5-2, and then beats Vanderbilt to set up the showdown with Georgia. Win in Athens, own Columbia – four of the last five games are at home – and push for a nine-win season.

Realistic Worst Case Scenario

The Gamecocks come out slowly, losing to NC State and on the road at Missouri to put them behind the 8-ball and desperately needing a win over Kentucky to jump-start the season. They lose road games to Texas A&M and Tennessee, and blow the game at Georgia and at home to Florida and Clemson to finish with a losing season and miss out on a bowl. USC is good enough to get to five wins – no worse – but even with all the good home games, a 7+ win campaign might be a fight.
