2017 Nebraska Cornhuskers Football Schedule
Realistic Best Case Scenario

The Huskers own a manageable September, getting by Willie Taggart’s Oregon team in Eugene for a 5-0 start before taking over the West with a win over Wisconsin. At the very least, they split the home dates with the Badgers and Ohio State before getting a week off to recharge. Even with three road games in the next four dates, they don’t have too many problems with Purdue, Northwestern and Minnesota, and split the Penn State and Iowa games for a 10-2 record and a trip to the Big Ten Championship.

Realistic Worst Case Scenario

They lose to Oregon and blow both home games against Wisconsin and Ohio State for an ugly 4-3 start. The week off doesn’t matter, getting stunned by Purdue on the road and losing both road games to Minnesota and Penn State. In a short Thanksgiving week, the Huskers lose to Iowa for a nightmare 5-7 season. Realistically, they’ll be too good for that, though. 6-6 is probably the worst possible run – and would lead to the start of the Scott Frost era.
