2017 Michigan State Spartans Football Schedule
Realistic Best Case Scenario

The Spartans are back to being good at college football again, and they own the state of Michigan over the first half of the season. The first four games are at home, and the Spartans take advantage of the break with wins over Western Michigan, Notre Dame, and Iowa before beating Michigan in Ann Arbor for a 5-0 start before beating Minnesota in Minneapolis. 8-0 before hosting Penn State, the Spartans take care of the Nittany Lions before going to Ann Arbor. To keep this realistic, assume wins over Maryland and Rutgers on the road for a 10-2 season and a trip to the Big Ten Championship – 11-1 if everything goes right.

Realistic Worst Case Scenario

The Spartans are going to struggle again at college football. They lose to Notre Dame and Iowa at home, drop the road games at Michigan and Minnesota, and it’s 2016 all over again. They can’t beat Penn State or Ohio State, but they still beat Maryland and Rutgers to close out with something positive. Realistically, they’re not going to do that again, but 6-6 would still be a bad year.
