2017 Clemson Tigers Football Schedule
Realistic Best Case Scenario

The Tigers can get through the September ACC road games. They take care of Auburn in Death Valley, and have no issues against Kent State and Boston College, and then come the issues: at Louisville, at Virginia Tech. Clemson gets to 5-0 after winning both games, and rolls through a relatively easy October to set up showdowns against NC State on the road and Florida State at home. Of course, there’s no best-case scenario without winning at South Carolina. However, realistically, the defending national champs go 11-1 and get back to the ACC title game.

Realistic Worst Case Scenario

Things aren’t clicking early and the Tigers lose to Auburn before getting dropped by Lamar Jackson and Louisville on the road. The wheels don’t totally come off, but being the hunted becomes a problem with a loss at Virginia Tech, starting out the year 2-3. They lose a game they shouldn’t in October – maybe against Georgia Tech or on the road at Syracuse – and they split the November road games at NC State and South Carolina. Throw in a loss against Florida State, and in a disastrous scenario, Clemson finishes 7-5.
