What’s Going To Happen
There’s still a distant hope of Western Michigan winning the MAC West, but it’ll take a lot of luck from other parts and wins over Northern Illinois and Toledo on the road over the next few weeks. But just getting bowl eligible would be nice.
For Kent State, just scoring a little bit would be nice.
The Golden Flashes clunked to a miserable Bowling Green team in a 44-16 loss last week, but that was hardly a shocker. WMU collapsing at home to Central Michigan in lousy weather really, really hurt.
But now the Broncos need more out of young QB Reece Goddard, a true freshman who couldn’t throw a forward pass in the loss to CMU, completing 6-of-18 passes for 42 yards.
Jarvion Franklin ran for 228 yards and two scores in the loss, and he and Jamauri Bogan should combine to pound away for a big day.
This isn’t a brick wall of a WMU defense, but it’ll look like it against this Kent State O that’s dead last in the country in scoring and a D that can’t stop the run.
