Georgia’s Jake Fromm “Fromm Burger” Is A Hit In Warner Robins
You’re the starting freshman quarterback at a storied program, you beat Notre Dame on the road in your first collegiate start, you lead the SEC in passing, your team is 9-0, and, by the way, you have the Dawgs ranked No. 1 in the country.
How does Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm top all that? Of course, you get your own signature burger in the display case of the hometown butcher..
“The Fromm” is a half-pound of certified Angus beef, mixed with bacon, Swiss cheese and mushrooms. The Butcher Shop in Warner Robins came up with the idea in a way to honor Jake…with some input from his mom, Lee, a frequent customer.
And business has been good thanks to Jake’s on the field exploits.
Amy and Davis Dean have owned the Butcher Shop since 2014. Amy told me since the Notre Dame game, they have been selling about 900 pounds a week of the Fromm Burger..
“We wanted to honor him and recognize all he has done for his hometown,” said Dean. “He’s a great kid from a great family and everyone in Houston County is thrilled.”
The Fromm Burger has received national attention and Amy said they are now shipping the savory beef via a vacuum-sealed package.
In addition, Monday through Wednesday, the Butcher Shop runs a promotion of selling the Fromm Burger for the score of Georgia’s previous game. You know Amy is hoping that Jake keeps putting a lot of points on the board. The Dawgs’ 24-point effort against South Carolina today may cause a stampede.
Fromm and the Dawgs will try to grill Auburn next on the Plains. A Fromm Burger will make a great tailgating meal.
