What’s Going To Happen

This has worked beyond everyone’s wildest dreams.

Florida Atlantic and FIU were awful, they brought on high-profile coaches, and now they’re both going bowling.

Lane Kiffin and FAU can win the East and go off to play North Texas in the Conference USA title game with a win, and FIU can stay alive with a win, a win over WKU, and a FAU loss to Charlotte next week.

So, realistically, FAU is off to the Conference USA Championship, but winning this rising local rivalry game might mean even more.

The Owls are rolling, winning five straight with a dominant running game led by Devin Singletary, the likely Conference USA Player of the Year. FIU is coming off a bad performance in a loss to Old Dominion, but as inconsistent as it has been, it’s shown the ability to rise up at times and defensively rock.

Can ball control work for FIU? FAU doesn’t care about time of possession as long as Singletary – with 1,360 yards and 22 scores – is doing his thing, but in a game like this, it’ll be a rivalry fight.

The Golden Panthers will keep it close, and it’ll seem like they’re controlling the game at times, but FAU will come up with three takeaways, score on all of them, and Lane will beat Butch.
