What’s Going To Happen

Time to rest up for the finishing kick.

Clemson is playing Miami for the ACC Championship in a few weeks, but first it has to get past a tough South Carolina team in a rivalry game on the road. It’s not going to be easy, but win out, get into the College Football Playoff for a third straight season.

The Tigers haven’t been unstoppable – at least compared to the last few seasons – but they’re right there on the doorstep to coming up with a fantastic year in what was supposed to be a rebuilding campaign.

There shouldn’t be much of a problem with a Citadel team that hasn’t faced an FBS team this year and can’t seem to put points on the board.

The run first, run only Bulldog offense is second in the FCS in rushing, but now has to deal with a Clemson defensive front that shouldn’t have too many problems with the option.

How did the Tigers do against Georgia Tech? They allowed 198 yards and a score in the 24-10 win. As long as they try and focus, they won’t have much of an issue.

Clemson’s goal? Get up fast, get QB Kelly Bryant on the sidelines, and let the defensive backups take care of the rest.

The Citadel offense will slow things down and control the clock a bit, but it’ll hit a wall time and again. It won’t be the best of performances by the Tigers, but it doesn’t matter as long as the key parts are still in one piece.
